Homage, Or Outright Stealing?

Week Five’s chosen image, of my Fifty-Two In Fifty-Two series, was me blatantly copycatting my friend Paul’s work.

Clicking on either of Paul’s photos above, will take you directly to his project that showcased those, and other images.  Anyway… seeing the Beemer there, just put me into mind of the, much better, resulting images that Paul had taken, and my trying to emulate what he had done.

Below were the two runner-up shots for Week Five –

As well as the other random pics taken whilst out and about –

Then these three below, I was just struck, and found interesting, the rebar all sticking up like crazy here, aside this restaurant that I discovered is now closed… but, just found weird how, and what it was they were doing with the rebar, to just have it poking up and out in every bloody direction –

Alright, so, that is it.  I did add an email subscription option at the bottom of the Fifty-Two In Fifty-Two page, for, well, namely, Paul… but, anyone else who would also like to be updated when each week’s image is dropped in the series, well there you go… otherwise, any new things, and all updates I do and make, I also Tweet about.

Okay, stay healthy, safe, and sane out there.  Wishing you all the best.

Well, I’m flattered that you’ve found inspiration in some of my older pics, Jeff!

I like your shot. Not actually seeing the Beemer shot in this post though, is that deliberate? Trying to drive up those page views, eh? 😉

The No Parking sign in the weeds/tall grass appeals to me as well. For me, there’s a ‘dreaminess’ that the lightness of the processing lends to the image. The dreamy feeling is, accentuated by the depth of field blur in the grass. And one imagines that it might be difficult to find parking anywhere near that sign anyway!

Nice to see you exploring the world with your camera again these days!

Thanks, Paul. And yes, was a deliberate decision to not include this week’s image here… though, really don’t know why… but, definitely wasn’t to drive up page views, as adding zero to zero is still zero! 😏😁

Thanks. Actually, this week was the toughest in deciding which would be this week’s selection, as it was between those three… that No Parking actually turned out better than I thought… but, just not enough to think it warranted this week’s spot. I had thought when I took it, that Monarch would be the shot… but, in the end, it just didn’t win out. Not saying that Beemer is really any better, for as I wrote you, it’s missing that little extra element that your’s have, that would make it really good and a keeper… but, doesn’t have it. As I wrote you though, hopefully in the progression of this series, I will get better at attaining shots that are better, worthy, good.

Thanks. Well, since that really was the impetus to my wanting to start and do the series, to get my ass back out there and shooting, it is good for having done that. And I am glad to hear that it is pushing you to do, post, a little more – rock on!

      Thanks for stopping by.
