Underbelly

Underbelly

After last week’s intent of wanting to get back to good ol’ black and white shooting, but color prevailing yet again, I went out the other day, and forced my hand in the matter, by going down to the convention center area, so as to have only it’s curves and lines before me.

The Underbelly image to the left here, was an accidental oversight… the image above, as with every image displayed in this entry, sans this Underbelly one, were all panoramic shots, because I still only just have the lone nifty-fifty lens in my shooting arsenal (well, asides the ol’ “nifty-fifty” also), and so being it wasn’t wide enough to capture all I was looking to, had to go the pano route.  Anyway, the Underbelly image to the left here, was suppose to be included in the pano that became the Shark Fin image above, but failed to notice it (and two others) when creating it, and didn’t want to go in and do it again, and so just deleted them, except for this one, as I liked it on it’s own… plus, would have been too much for the Shark Fin one, as I like it’s composition the way that it is… all the below part would have taken away from it.

Angles And Lines

Angles And Lines

About a decade ago, I had shot this convention center, during one of my previous incarnations of living in this hellhole, somewhat similar to the Angles And Lines above right, but from a slightly different perspective, that was one of my Photographs displayed in my previous sites… that one I kept in color though… however, it did not make the cut, in my severe editing down of my images, when setting up this latest site o’ mine.

And may I just say again, just how awesome NIK’s Silver Efex Pro is!  Well, it isn’t NIK any longer… think it’s DxO(?) who has it now, after Google (I think) first took it, and then dumped it… anyway, Silver Efex Pro is still my go-to black and white converter that I just flat out love!

While I was editing these yesterday, I started to fret, thinking of how it is I am wanting to upgrade the ol’ laptop here, and that upgrade will be to Apple’s new M1 Mac Mini, with it’s obvious new chip set… and began to worry if Silver Efex Pro would still function on it…  DxO does have a newer app version than what I am sure I have, as I am certain, it is still from back when NIK actually still was in control of it, yet still works flawlessly… would just to hate to “upgrade” to whatever version may be put out today, if it has been watered down, or not work as well…  Guess, will just have to see… but, sure hope not, and can still use the trusty ol’ program for my black and white work… otherwise, it will be quite the severe loss.

Anyway, that’s it.  Be happy, and wishing you well on your journey.
